Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Java Developer with 10 years of hands-on software development experience to join a high-impact technology team supporting T-Mobile initiatives through Cognizant. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java backend development, modern frontend technologies, REST APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and enterprise application development.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and supporting scalable full-stack applications in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack enterprise applications using Java and modern frontend technologies.
• Develop robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Framework.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop responsive and user-friendly web applications using Angular or React.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL development, database design, and performance optimization.
• Implement application integrations with internal and external enterprise systems.
• Participate in application architecture, technical design, code reviews, and development standards.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance applications following enterprise engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Write unit, integration, and automated tests and ensure high-quality production releases.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps teams to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Support cloud-based application development and deployment.
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to application modernization initiatives.

Required Skills

• 10 years of professional software development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Framework
• Strong experience with Microservices Architecture
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs
• Strong frontend development experience with Angular or React
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Strong SQL and relational database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar
• Experience with JPA/Hibernate
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
• Experience with Maven or Gradle
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent testing frameworks
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Kafka or other event-streaming technologies
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with Redis or other caching technologies
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
• Experience with ELK/Splunk or application monitoring tools
• Experience working in telecommunications, wireless, or large-scale consumer technology environments
• Experience with enterprise-scale application modernization
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and OAuth2/JWT
• Experience working with high-volume, distributed applications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
