Position Overview
The Microtrenching Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of microtrenching operations, including planning, execution, crew management, safety compliance, and project delivery. This role ensures that fiber installation projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Must be able to pass a background check, and drug test.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day microtrenching construction activities across assigned projects
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment usage
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
- Coordinate with engineering, permitting, and utility stakeholders
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks
- Troubleshoot field issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
- Ensure proper restoration and customer/property satisfaction
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: $1100/ week (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Company contribution of 50% after 60 day probationary period
Work Schedule
- Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, with extended hours and weekends as required based on project demands
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in fiber construction or underground utilities
- Direct experience with microtrenching operations strongly preferred
- Proven leadership and crew management experience
- Knowledge of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination
- Ability to read construction drawings and plans
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required
