As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and dependable Bookkeeper to join our Davenport, Iowa team.

The Bookkeeper will play an important role in supporting the financial operations of R3 Heating & Air. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily bookkeeping activities, and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with leadership and other departments.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, identifies discrepancies, and helps maintain efficient and accurate financial processes.

• Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and customer billing accurately and efficiently.
• Record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and assist with collections and payment follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and preparation of financial reports.
• Track company expenses, vendor payments, and financial transactions.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Assist with payroll-related documentation and reporting as needed.
• Support leadership with financial reporting, expense tracking, and budget-related information.
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding billing and payment matters.
• Coordinate with outside accounting professionals when necessary.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and company information.
• Recommend improvements to bookkeeping procedures and financial processes.

Required:

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a closely related role.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
• Experience using QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Preferred:

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience in HVAC, construction, plumbing, electrical, or another service-based industry.
• Experience with job costing, service billing, or project-based accounting.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and financial reporting.
• Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
