Implementation Team Lead (SaaS / Fintech) – Player-Coach

We are partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed SaaS company that is transforming finance and accounting operations. Their AI-driven platform automates the full revenue lifecycle—from billing and collections to revenue recognition—helping companies save time and accelerate cash flow.
The company has experienced rapid growth, recently closed a significant funding round, and serves a mix of high-growth tech customers. They are now scaling their customer delivery team and seeking an experienced leader to take the function to the next level.
The Role
Our client is hiring an Implementation Team Lead to serve as a player-coach. You will manage a small team of Implementation Managers while staying hands-on with complex, high-impact implementations.
This role is critical for ensuring high-quality delivery, building scalable processes, and supporting the company’s continued growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop a small team of Implementation Managers
- Conduct performance reviews and support hiring decisions
- Drive a culture of excellence and accountability
End-to-End Implementations
- Own full lifecycle implementations from scoping through go-live
- Map customer workflows and configure the platform to meet requirements
- Lead integrations with common ERP and financial systems
- Deliver projects on accelerated timelines typical of high-growth SaaS
Customer Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to finance and accounting stakeholders
- Translate accounting and operational requirements into practical system solutions
- Ensure alignment between customer needs and platform capabilities
Operational Excellence
- Build and refine implementation playbooks and processes
- Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements
- Track delivery metrics and ensure consistency and quality
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to improve the platform
- Share insights from implementations to inform product development and roadmap
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years of experience in SaaS implementation, onboarding, or professional services
- Proven experience leading full end-to-end implementations
- Prior people management experience, including performance reviews and hiring
- Strong accounting knowledge, especially revenue recognition and order-to-cash processes
- Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct)
- Background in fast-paced SaaS or fintech environments
Nice to Have
- CPA or formal accounting background
- Experience in consulting or Big Four environments
