The Maintenance Supervisor is the backbone of our operations, ensuring our equipment and facilities run safely and efficiently. They will lead a team to maintain peak performance, champion a safety-first culture, and drive continuous improvement through your technical expertise. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for problem-solving and a deep commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead by example: Provide hands-on guidance, coaching, and supervision to the maintenance team, demonstrating best practices for safe and efficient work.
  • Empower your team: Conduct performance reviews to assess team competency, knowledge, and contributions, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-solve with purpose: Lead troubleshooting and problem-resolution efforts to eliminate maintenance-related downtime, waste, and inefficiency.
  • Improve plant operations: Continually review equipment and systems to anticipate and solve problems, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimizing performance.
  • 2nd shift Production Maintenance coverage: Cover or arrange coverage for 2nd shift when the maintenance technician is out.
  • Weekend scheduling: Ensure the maintenance team covers weekend production days and schedule repairs during the weekends as necessary.

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a safety culture: Actively participate in the company's safety program and ensure all team members adhere to safety standards, including proper cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance: Maintain all electrical units and production equipment in an OSHA-compliant condition.
  • Uphold industry standards: Verify that all maintenance activities adhere to SQF, HACCP, GMP, NFPA, and OSHA guidelines.

Technical Expertise & Maintenance Operations

  • Drive maintenance programs: Lead and supervise plant maintenance programs with a focus on planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Optimize inventory: Supervise the use of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies to prevent asset downtime and maximize uptime.
  • Keep records: Ensure all equipment and facility records are accurately maintained.
  • Handle other duties: This includes administrative functions like time sheet and invoice approvals.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Technical proficiency: Strong working knowledge of electricity, electronics, pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, welding, drilling, and tapping.
  • Problem-solving skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to ownership: Must possess a proactive attitude and a sense of ownership toward your department and its success.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, squat, and maneuver around machinery.
  • Must be able to physically complete all assigned tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

  • Generally, Monday thru Friday — occasional weekend for major repairs or large PM's
  • 6:30 am to 4:30 pm — On-Call for emergencies or alarms

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Maintenance management: 2 years (Required)
  • Food safety: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • EPA Refrigeration Certification (Preferred)
