Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair plumbing systems according to blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure precise pipe routing and system layout.
- Perform pipe threading, cutting, fitting, and welding of various materials including gas piping systems and heavy-duty pipes.
- Maintain compliance with local building codes, plumbing building codes, and safety regulations throughout all phases of work.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical devices safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
- Assist with remodeling projects or handyman tasks that involve plumbing or related mechanical systems.
- Support the installation of HVAC components related to plumbing systems when necessary.
- Lift heavy materials safely during construction or maintenance activities while following proper ergonomic practices.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of construction site protocols.
- Skilled in welding techniques suitable for plumbing applications; familiar with pipe threading and assembly processes.
- Deep knowledge of plumbing building codes, local regulations, and safety standards applicable to residential and commercial projects.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools (wrenches, pipe cutters), power tools (drills, saws), and specialized equipment used in pipe installation and repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance, repair operations (MRO), gas piping systems, HVAC components, and system troubleshooting.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety regulations; capable of heavy lifting safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizing or system layouts; carpentry skills are a plus for remodeling tasks.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving when required; familiarity with construction site logistics is advantageous.
