Alterations Tailor

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alterations Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a strong background in garment construction and alterations. This role involves working closely with customers to ensure their garments fit perfectly, providing excellent customer service while utilizing sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assess garments for alterations, identifying necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit.
• Perform alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and adjusting sleeves or collars.
• Operate sewing machines and other equipment effectively to complete alterations with precision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about their needs and preferences.
• Keep accurate records of alterations completed and any special requests from customers.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of alterations while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mens tailoring is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with clients.
• Proficiency in using sewing machines as well as hand-sewing techniques.
• Knowledge of garment construction principles and fabric types.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to alterations.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for style and fit.
