  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Delegate, Assign and Monitor certain office duties to Office Secretary, occasional Intern, and instruct and assist as necessary
  • Answer Telephone Calls and Make Calls on Behalf of Attorneys
  • Maintain Good Public and Client Relations
  • Observe Confidentiality of Attorney-Client Relationship
  • Office Organization and Management
  • Hard File Preparation & Management
  • Follow Office Procedures and Protocol
  • Provide Attorney Support
  • Scheduling & Calendar Management
  • Meeting Deadlines/Trial preparation
  • Light Errands
  • Drafting correspondence, reports, memoranda and other legal documents (i.e. pleadings, briefs, etc.)
  • Revising, proofreading, assembling and distributing prepared material as necessary
  • Review and route incoming correspondence
  • Develop and maintain well organized, Computer client files, resource materials and administrative files
  • Schedule and confirm appointments in a proactive manner
  • Prepare and review billing statements
  • E-File Pleadings, Motions and other Documents
  • Provide Client Updates and Case Status as Necessary

  • QUALIFICATIONS AND INDIVIDUAL SKILLS
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and appropriately with a diverse client roster.
  • Be able to work independently and proficiently without direct supervision.
  • Have the ability to focus under pressure and maintain a professional and amicable disposition.
  • Must be able to work in an organized, efficient manner and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Be willing to support the firm with general administrative duties and special projects as needed.
  • High Degree of Organization, Flexibility and Reliability.
  • Detailed oriented and able to proof and format documents without error.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Ability to Handle Multiple, Competing Priorities in an Effective Manner.
  • Ability to Work Effectively in Deadline Pressured Situations.
  • Ability to prioritize and direct attorneys’ schedule, tasks and obligations.
  • High Proficiency in Current Version of Windows, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Applications and Utilizing the Internet.
  • Willingness to quickly learn and proficiently use our Office Management Program.
  • Adapt easily to unfamiliar legal programs for individual tasks and document generation.
  • Typing Speed of 60 WPM.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior Legal Experience Required.
  • Paralegal experience/training a plus.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Ohio’s judicial system and structure.
  • Should have some familiarity with the individual courts in Lake and surrounding counties.
  • Must be able to convey accurate information quickly to court staffs, attorneys, and associated persons or entities in a professionalism and amicable manner.
  • Must be Able and Willing to Delegate Tasks, Monitor Performance and Direct and Aid the development of other Staff Members within the Office in an instructive and helpful manner.
  • Must be comfortable working in a small office setting and be willing to develop a basic understanding of multiple areas of law.

The position is demanding, the pace often hectic and the frequency of priorities being displaced by higher priorities requires focus. The position can also be rewarding. We navigate, assist and protect people and families often in crisis and usually in a frightening and unfamiliar environment. The right Candidate will understand the mission as well as they understand the individual components that comprise the job.

Pay: $350.00 - $600.00 per week
