Compensation: Base pay plus eligible sales commissions. Negotiable with experience.
Reports to: Executive Team

Van Beek Nutrition is seeking Outside Sales Representatives to develop new business and maintain customer relationships throughout Idaho and Montana. Representatives sell approved calcium, mineral, and animal-feed products to farms, ranches, feed businesses, and other agricultural customers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Identify prospects, develop new accounts, and grow assigned customer relationships.

• Visit customers and prospects within the assigned territory, prepare quotations, follow up on opportunities, and coordinate orders with VBN.

• Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records. Track work time and sales activity in Toggl and submit timely updates to management.

• Use the VBN-provided telephone or assigned Microsoft Teams number and VBN email for customer communications.

• Record commission type and proposed allocations on sales order forms and obtain management approval.

• Follow approved pricing, credit terms, product specifications, and sales practices.

• Use marketing materials and product claims approved by VBN’s Coordinating Compliance Officer.

• Obtain executive approval before authorizing returns, refunds, or credits.

• Protect confidential company information and follow customer-site safety and biosecurity requirements.

Qualifications

• Agricultural sales, livestock production, animal nutrition, feed, or mineral experience preferred.

• Ability to prospect independently, build relationships, organize a territory, and consistently follow through.

• Clear communication and basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Teams, Toggl, Canva, social media, and customer tracking systems.

• Valid driver’s license, required automobile insurance, and reliable transportation for assigned business travel.

Work Environment and Travel

This position combines customer development, computer and telephone work, and some travel within Idaho and Montana. Customer visits may include farms, ranches, and feed facilities with outdoor weather, dust, noise, livestock, and uneven surfaces. Work schedules must accommodate customer appointments and approved business travel. Essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation and Performance

Base compensation is paid on VBN’s payment schedule. Commissions apply to eligible collected sales under a written agreement. Ongoing performance is evaluated through results, margins, new accounts, retention, documented activity, and follow-through.
