Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Excavation Laborer with at least 5 years of excavation experience to help with digging, grading, and site preparation for construction projects. Responsibilities include operating equipment, using hand and power tools, and following all on-site safety procedures. The laborer will work alongside equipment operators and supervisors to help keep projects running efficiently and on schedule. This is a full-time, year-round position, and we are looking to hire someone immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with excavation projects by digging trenches, foundations, and other areas using hand tools or heavy equipment.
- Support utility installation or relocation projects, including water, gas, and electrical lines, by preparing proper trenching.
- Help install shoring and trench safety systems to reduce the risk of cave-ins and maintain safe working conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Work may take place in difficult weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold temperatures.
- The position involves physically demanding labor such as lifting, digging, and transporting materials.
- Required safety gear includes hard hats, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other protective equipment.
- Overtime, extended hours, and weekend work may be required based on project schedules and deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to safely use both hand tools and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of excavation procedures, trenching, and workplace safety practices.
- Strong physical endurance with the ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Understanding of basic math, measurements, and excavation depth requirements for site layout work.
