What You'll Do
- Lead and manage survey crews in the field to complete boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
- Plan and organize survey activities, determining the best methods, procedures, and equipment for each project.
- Operate and oversee the use of total stations, GPS, and other instruments to collect accurate data.
- Perform calculations and analyze survey data to produce precise plats, maps, and reports.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and team members to meet project requirements.
- Maintain safety standards and compliance on all job sites.
- Keep thorough field notes, records, and project documentation.
- Mentor and train junior crew members, supporting their professional growth.
- Stay current on new technologies, industry trends, and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief or instrument operator.
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS equipment, and surveying instruments.
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate crews.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center or similar software.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
