Liquor Store Clerk Job Description
A Liquor Store Clerk assists customers with purchasing alcoholic beverages and related products while providing excellent customer service. They are responsible for maintaining a clean, organized store, operating the cash register, stocking shelves, and ensuring compliance with all laws regarding the sale of alcohol.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
- Assist customers in selecting beer, wine, spirits, and other store products.
- Operate the cash register and process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.
- Verify customer identification to ensure legal age requirements are met.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays; rotate inventory as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items.
- Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Receive and unpack deliveries.
- Follow all state and local alcohol sales regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing store procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits is helpful but not required.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 4pm-10pm
Saturday 4pm-10pm
Sunday 11am-9pm
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
