What are the responsibilities and job description for the Track Supervisor - Jesup, GA position at R.J. Corman Railroad Group?
R. J. Corman Switching Company has an opening for a Track Supervisor in Ste. Genevieve, MO to assist in the safe, efficient, and general management of the track maintenance operations at our local switching location. The Track Supervisor will schedule, coordinate and supervise all personnel, manage material metrics, tools and equipment to support the track maintenance and inspection.
Job Requirements:
- Three or more years of track maintenance experience is preferred
- Coordinate, plan and perform track maintenance work (install ties, change rail, etc.)
- Perform weekly track inspections to ensure safe train operations
- Monitor work practices and safety related issues to improve quality and performance
- Work with customers, both internally and externally
- Plan and provide future track improvements for location
- Manage employees, equipment and materials
- Must have experience in Maintenance of Way standards
- Prior supervisory experience
- Familiar with and able to apply safety and operating procedures
- Independent starter and must be self-motivated with good communication skills
Environmental Conditions: Work is performed outside in varying types of environmental conditions. The requirements of this position involve extended periods of strenuous physical activity under various field and weather conditions. Applicant must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull with confined spaces.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to perform physical strenuous work
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Requires occasional use of 30lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50lbs of force
- Requires occasional use of 10lb sledge hammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75lbs of force
- Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner
- Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary
