What are the responsibilities and job description for the ROADSIDE SUPPORT SPECIALIST position at R.E. Garrison Trucking, Inc.?

Role And Responsibilities

Acts as Point of Contact on all points of the breakdown process from initial call to payment of invoices
Analyzes and Authorizes repair issues and uses discretion to determine whom to use for repairs
Uses discretion to approve or deny what work will be completed
Provides drivers with options to use for maintenance of break downs while on the road
Keeps interfacing departments abreast of ongoing situation in timely manner
Functions as liaison between driver and repair shop of driver’s choice
Maintains honest and open dialog with the driver at all times
Utilizes software database to locate shops that can handle the particular problem at hand
Notifies interfacing departments of the location of the chosen shop and repairs that will need to be done
Continually updates interfacing departments and drivers of progress/time frame
Processes payment for services rendered through com check or accounts payable
Ensures all records and invoices are scanned into software
Responsible for various dispatch duties, including, but not limited to, making contact with drivers after normal working hours; ensuring critical loads and issues are given attention in a timely manner.
Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

Preferred Skills

Must be customer oriented.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
This position requires the ability to multi-task, make quick decisions, handle sensitive situations, and take initiative above and beyond to ensure timeliness of repairs and mobility of the truck in question.

We are looking to fill 2nd and 3rd shift positions in this role.

Compensation details: 41600 Yearly Salary
