Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Application Review Technician to support the development permitting process within a fast-paced regulatory environment. This role is responsible for reviewing applications, processing documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing customer service to applicants and the public.
The Application Review Technician will assist with permit intake, fee verification, document processing, and coordination with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate application review. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with established guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in administrative support, permitting, or customer service roles
- Experience reviewing applications, forms, or documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Experience handling data entry, document processing, and record management
- Experience working with payments, fees, or financial transactions
- Experience providing customer service and responding to inquiries in a professional manner
- Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate administrative documentation
Experience Preferences
- Experience working in permitting, zoning, planning, or regulatory environments
- Familiarity with land development regulations, permitting processes, or compliance requirements
- Experience working with government or municipal agencies
- Knowledge of flood zones, FEMA requirements, or right-of-way permitting processes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and reaching
