About Qumis
Qumis is redefining insurance with generative AI. We're building the leading vertical AI platform for insurance knowledge work, trusted by top brokers, carriers, and claims professionals to analyze complex policies, compare terms, and generate law-firm-quality insights in seconds.
Our traction is undeniable: 100% pilot conversion, 20% month-over-month growth, and >150% quarter-over-quarter growth in 2025, all with minimal outbound sales or marketing. We're backed by leading venture investors including Armory Square Ventures, MTech Capital, and BrokerTech Ventures. Now we're building a marketing engine to accelerate the momentum we've created through product excellence and word of mouth.
About The Role
Build the marketing function that powers the next phase of Qumis's growth.
We're hiring our first Director of Marketing to own our entire marketing strategy and execution. You'll be a foundational member of our go-to-market team, responsible for everything from brand positioning and content strategy to demand generation and sales enablement. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a playbook; you'll build it all from scratch.
You'll define how Qumis shows up in the market, craft narratives that resonate with insurance professionals, generate qualified pipeline for our sales team, and create scalable processes as we scale from seed to Series A and beyond. You'll work directly with our CEO, Head of Sales, and founding team, with high visibility and direct impact on company strategy.
This role is ideal for a full-stack marketer who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, someone who can develop a content calendar in the morning, optimize a paid campaign at lunch, and present brand strategy to the board in the afternoon. You've built marketing functions at early-stage companies before and understand what it takes to do more with less in B2B SaaS, insurtech, fintech, or AI.

Required Qualifications
- 9 years of marketing experience with significant time in B2B SaaS, insurtech, legaltech, fintech, AI, or related early-stage technology companies

- Full-stack marketer who can operate across brand, content, demand gen, product marketing, and sales enablement without a large team
- Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing attribution, funnel metrics, and data-driven decision making

- Experience with AI/ML products and the ability to articulate technical differentiation to non-technical buyers
- Track record of supporting 3-5x revenue growth at a seed or Series B company
- Existing relationships within the insurance industry
You'll thrive if you:
- Move fast and ship: you'd rather launch something 80% perfect today than something 100% perfect in three months
- Own outcomes, not activities: you measure success by pipeline generated and revenue influenced, not campaigns launched
- Think like a founder: you connect your work to company outcomes, understand unit economics, and treat budget like your own money
- Embrace AI as a superpower: you're already using Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools daily to 10x your productivity
- Build trust effortlessly: you can influence without authority and earn credibility with technical and business stakeholders
- Thrive in ambiguity: you don't need perfect documentation or a defined playbook before being productive
