PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
· Lead in the development of custom DNA-based applications and tests, focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS) targeted products.
· Communicate with clients as a technical expert to explain experimental techniques and processes to ensure that client needs are met.
· Work in tandem with bioinformaticians for data analysis and engage with other internal teams, including product development, for cross-functional projects.
· Plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and use findings to enhance NGS products and applications.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing production workflows for NGS Kits, ensuring enhanced efficiency, quality, and scalability of our products.
· Understand all sequencing platforms, especially NGS, and be an integrator of the four major platforms: Sanger Sequencing, NGS, PacBio Long Read Long Sequencing and Nanopore Sequencing.
· Adhere to regulatory standards and related ISO guidelines.Evaluate and update lab SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) on a regular basis.
· Keep track of the latest NGS technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the technical capabilities of the laboratory.
· Manage the performance and development of team members and provide necessary training and career development opportunities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· A master's degree with 5 years of experience or a PhD with 2 year of post-graduate experience in a related field such as molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, or chemistry. Team management experience working for an NGS company is highly desirable.
· Strong knowledge of NGS methods, products, and applications.Familiarity with NGS technology and its use in research and clinical applications.
· Hands-on experience with large-scale genomic methods such as whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, target enrichment, RNA sequencing, and single-cell sequencing.
· Experience with NGS library preparation methods.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Competence & Skills
· Understanding of bioinformatics and bioinformatics tools, including genome alignment, mapping, variant calling, and annotation. Ability to perform basic analysis and communicate needs with bioinformaticians.
· Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including DNA purification, DNA quantification, and PCR.
· Proficiency in written and spoken English.
· Coding skills in R, Python or equivalent languages is preferred.
· Experience with liquid handling systems and automation is a plus.
