What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Summer Camp Nurse (2-4 Week Contract) position at Quinipet Camp & Retreat Center?
LIVE-IN POSITION LOCATED ON SHELTER ISLAND, NEW YORK
As our Camp Nurse, you’ll oversee the health and well-being of our campers and staff, managing the Health Center with the support of a local doctor on call, excellent EMS with a hospital nearby, a well-established Health Care Plan, and physician-approved standing orders. The Camp Nurse works closely with our seasonal Nurse Assistant. Enjoy the best of both worlds—working with a healthy population while soaking in breathtaking waterfront views!
What You’ll Do:
- Provide care for campers and staff, including first aid and routine health needs
- Manage and maintain the Health Center and all related documentation
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Collaborate with a local physician on call and EMS when needed
- Be an integral part of a welcoming and enthusiastic camp community
What We’re Looking For:
- NY State License (Physician, NP, or RN)
- Pediatric experience
- Warm and approachable personality
- Strong organizational and documentation skills

Week 4: Sunday, July 19 - Saturday, July 25
Week 5: Sunday, July 26 - Saturday, August 1
Week 6: Sunday, August 2 - Saturday, August 8
Week 7: Sunday, August 9 - Saturday, August 15
Week 8: Sunday, August 16 - Saturday, August 22
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $2,000.00 per week
