About the Role
Quinipet Camp & Retreat Center, a ministry of the New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, is an inclusive day and overnight camp serving children of all faiths. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Spiritual Life Coordinator (SLC) to foster a welcoming, thoughtful spiritual community for campers and staff.
This live-in role is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in pastoral counseling, spiritual leadership, and youth development. Room and board, as well as meals, are provided.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging daily Morning Gathering and evening Vespers services.
- Create inclusive opportunities for reflection, mindfulness, and spiritual growth
- Facilitate conflict resolution, social justice conversations, and community-building
- Provide spiritual support and guidance to campers and staff
- Be a visible, approachable presence across camp (meals, activities, events)
- Support staff training and wellness initiatives
- Communicate with leadership, maintain documentation, and uphold safety protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in religious studies, counseling, psychology, education, or related field (required)
- Master of Divinity, seminary, or camp ministry experience (preferred)
- Experience leading youth-focused programs
- Commitment to inclusivity and engaging individuals of all spiritual backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license; must be 21

- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and meet the physical demands of camp life.
