POSITION SUMMARY: The Simulation Technician provides technical and administrative support to the Division of Nursing skills and simulation programs. The Technician will be accountable for the operation, programming, repair and maintenance of task trainers and patient simulation equipment and be able to facilitate, maintain, and operate advanced simulation equipment, such as patient manikins, to support student education and training.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: At least high school diploma or equivalent, preferably a degree in a technical field, IT, or healthcare (e.g., EMS, nursing). Experience with computer programming and troubleshooting as well as ability to handle mechanical repairs desired. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Simulation technician or operations specialist experience preferred. CHSOS certification a plus.

- Skill to apply specialized moulage to enhance realistic, safe, and effective training experiences for users.
- Excellent communication skills both written and orally
- Ability to work independently as well as within various teams.

Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Setup and Maintenance: Prepare, calibrate, and maintain patient simulator manikins and equipmenr, task trainers, and audio/visual recording equipment.
- Scenario Execution: Program, run, and troubleshoot simulation scenarios, including role-playing as an embedded person or patient, if necessary.
- Technical Support: Perform routine troubleshooting, repairs, and software updates for computer-based systems and hardware.
- Operational Logistics: Manage inventory, prepare supplies for scenarios, and ensure the simulation environment matches clinical or operational requirements.
- Training Assistance: Support faculty or instructors in achieving learning objectives through technical guidance and equipment operation. Assist in training instructors how to use and care for simulation equipment.
