Summary
A growing Asian food manufacturer and distributor is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their corporate FP&A team in Torrance, California. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep experience in profitability analysis, financial modeling, and data-driven decision support. The position reports to the Financial Planning Manager and offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a dynamic team environment.
Essential Duties
- Advanced Profitability Analysis: Lead detailed monthly P&L analysis by department, account, and product, proactively identifying and explaining financial anomalies and performance trends.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and manage weekly P&L flash reports, providing strategic insights to senior management on revenue drivers and cost fluctuations.
- KPI & Performance Monitoring: Design, track, and analyze department-level KPIs, generating performance dashboards and collaborating with department heads to drive improvement.
- Business Partnership & Process Improvement: Partner with Finance, Operations, and PMD teams to ensure reporting accuracy; drive the automation of recurring financial reports using Power BI, Excel Macros, and other tools.
- Forecasting & Ad-Hoc Analysis: Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes. Conduct complex ad-hoc financial deep dives as requested by the FP&A Manager and VP.
- Report Maintenance: Maintain clear documentation of reporting logic and handoff procedures to ensure scalability and accuracy.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis or FP&A.
- Deep understanding of P&L structures, financial modeling, KPI frameworks, and cost analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (macros, complex formulas) and Power BI is required.
- SQL knowledge is a strong plus.
- Bilingual (English/Japanese) preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
