We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing electrical project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and supporting project bids from initial concept through completion. Your expertise will help ensure our projects are competitively priced while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse electrical construction projects, from commercial to large residential buildings and MTA projects, all while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive electrical estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Accubid & Stack Takeoff to prepare accurate cost analyses and bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, other electrical estimators, and clients to understand project scope and technical requirements.
- Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground information relevant to electrical installation costs and logistics.
- Perform quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor cost calculations, and subcontractor negotiations.
- Perform change order proposals
- Ensure estimates align with project budgets, cost control measures, and contractual obligations based on NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Assist in bid submission processes, contract review, and post-bid analysis for continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems and installations.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management practices.
- Familiarity with electrical codes such as NEC and industry standards for safety and quality assurance.
- Hands-on electrical experience or construction site experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating tools, including HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other relevant software platforms.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
