What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations | UM | UR | Workers' Compensation position at Questpro?
Director of Operations
Workers’ Compensation | Utilization Management (UM) | Utilization Review (UR) | NonClinical
Your Time Is Now. Lead. Transform. Grow.
Some leaders manage operations. The best transform them.
_______________________
If you are a proven operational leader within Workers’ Compensation Utilization Management (UM), Utilization Review (UR), or Managed Care and ready for a bigger opportunity, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
Join a growing, established, best-in-class industry leader where you will partner with executive leadership to shape strategy, improve operations, develop people, and help drive the next phase of organizational growth.
This is far more than overseeing daily operations. We are looking for a leader who sees opportunities others miss, solves complex challenges, streamlines processes, develops teams, and creates operational excellence that scales.
Maybe you are the person everyone relies on—the one who improves workflows, strengthens teams, and helps make the operation better every day. Now is your opportunity for greater visibility, influence, and a true seat at the table.
Your Time Is Now.
Why You’ll Want This Opportunity
✔ Highly visible leadership role with direct executive partnership.
✔ Opportunity to influence strategic decisions and organizational growth.
✔ Lead meaningful process improvement—not simply maintain existing workflows.
✔ Build, coach, and develop high-performing teams while creating career pathways.
✔ Shape a culture centered around collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
✔ Join a financially strong organization recognized for excellence within the Workers’ Compensation Managed Care industry.
✔ Competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance may be available.
What Makes You the Right Leader
You don’t wait for change.
You create it.
You naturally identify inefficiencies, remove roadblocks, and build smarter ways of working.
You lead from the front—earning trust through authenticity, emotional intelligence, and accountability. You know operational excellence starts with engaged teams and understand how to motivate frontline employees, develop talent, and create a culture where people are empowered to succeed.
You bring urgency, sound decision-making, and the ability to confidently communicate across all levels of an organization—from frontline teams to executive leadership.
What You’ll Help Build
As Director of Operations, you’ll lead critical Utilization Management and Utilization Review operations while partnering across the organization to:
✔ Leadership experience within Workers’ Compensation Utilization Management (UM), Utilization Review (UR), or Managed Care Operations.
✔ Experience with a Managed Care organization or URAC-accredited Utilization Management organization strongly preferred.
✔ Proven success improving operations through process optimization, workflow enhancement, and continuous improvement.
✔ Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
✔ Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and executive presence.
✔ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Location: San Antonio, TX
This leadership role is based in the Greater San Antonio area—one of Texas’ most attractive and affordable major metro areas.
Candidates should be local or open to relocation. Relocation assistance may be available. Given the mission-critical nature of this operation, the ability to collaborate onsite with teams and leadership is highly preferred. Hybrid arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates who bring the right experience and leadership impact.
Build More Than Operations. Build Your Legacy.
If you’re looking for more than your next title—if you’re ready to influence executive strategy, build exceptional teams, transform operations, and make a lasting impact within a growing, established Workers’ Compensation Managed Care organization—
Your Time Is Now.
