What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher Assistant (Montessori) position at Quest Montessori School?
Full-time Preschool Teacher's Assistant. The position supports the lead teacher to maintain a calm, nurturing, engaging environment for a classroom of approximately 18 children ages 3 to 6 years old.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintaining the order and cleanliness of the environment
- Supporting the children's independence and encouraging positive behavior through role modeling
- Helping students as directed by the teacher
- Helping with children's daily needs including snack, lunch, napping, assistance with toileting if needed
- Supervising naps and recess to for safety and peer problem solving
- Making/Repairing Montessori materials to support student work
- Help teacher with general classroom management
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with young children
- Respect for young children as individuals
- A demonstrated warm, caring, and patient manner
- Solid respectful, communication and organizational skills
- The flexibility to adapt to the dynamics of a child's day
- The willingness to accept direction but also take initiative in their work
- A desire to learn about Montessori education

- The is a childcare position and therefore requires a Comprehensive Background Check and Department of Human Service (DHS) Clearance. Must have up to date pediatric CPR/First Aid certification, ability to provide proof of DHS required immunizations and yearly flu vaccination. The school will reimburse any expense related to meeting these requirements. Are you willing to meet this requirements?
