Elementary Teacher Assistant (Montessori School)

Teacher’s Assistant for 1st-6th Grade Elementary Students

This is not a teaching position but plays a vital role in supporting the success of the classroom environment. The Teacher’s Assistant works closely with the lead teacher to help maintain a calm, nurturing, and engaging atmosphere for students.

This is a 10-month position beginning in late August 2026 and running through mid-June 2027, with the opportunity to return for the following academic year. Part-time summer hours may also be available, though not guaranteed.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining the order and cleanliness of the environment
• Supporting the children's independence and encouraging positive behavior through role modeling
• Helping students as directed by the teacher
• Supervising recess to for safety and peer problem solving
• Making/Repairing Montessori materials to support student work
• Help teacher with general classroom management
• Flexibility to step into other supporting roles as needed
• Supervising children on small field trips

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
