What You Will Do

We are seeking a contract Warehouse Project Manager with strong logistics and warehousing experience to lead a warehouse transfer from one third-party logistics (3PL) provider to another. This role will lead planning, execution, and migration in conjunction with a core team of subject matter experts. The project team must ensure continuity of operations—both 3PLs must remain operational during the transfer and cutover period.

• Develop and manage the end-to-end project plan for transferring warehouse operations from the incumbent 3PL to the new 3PL.
• Lead cutover strategy and phased transition approach that maintains service levels while both 3PLs operate in parallel.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (operations, transportation, customer service, IT, finance, data management, procurement, and inventory control) and establish a governance cadence (status reports, RAID log, etc.).
• Define and track scope, milestones, dependencies, budget, and key risks; implement mitigation and contingency plans.
• Oversee operational readiness: labor planning, inbound/outbound processes, slotting/put-away, cycle counting, returns, value-added services, and peak planning.
• Partner with IT and 3PL teams to validate system integrations and data flows (i.e., WMS, ERP interfaces, etc.) and ensure testing and defect resolution.
• Plan and execute inventory transfer and reconciliation, including controls for accuracy.
• Ensure documentation and training are in place (SOPs, work instructions, escalation paths) for steady-state operations at the new 3PL.
• Establish and monitor KPIs (OTIF, put away, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, damages/claims) and drive issue resolution through root-cause analysis.
• Manage vendor performance and ensure contractual service requirements and SLAs are met during the transition.
  
  

What You Will Bring

• Proven project management experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain. The ideal candidate would have proven experience leading complex operational transitions from an incumbent to new 3PL provider.
• Hands-on knowledge of warehouse operations (inbound, outbound, inventory control) and 3PL management.
• Demonstrated ability to run parallel operations and manage cutover risk without disrupting customer service.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across internal teams, external partners, with the ability to facilitate collaboration and conflict resolution
• Experience with SAP processes and integrations sufficient to partner effectively with IT and operations teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills; comfortable producing executive-ready status reporting.
• Experience transferring operations between 3PLs and/or opening/closing distribution sites.
• Familiarity with Lean / continuous improvement methods and warehouse productivity measurement.
• PMP or similar project management certification preferred.
• Experience with vendor scorecards.
  
  

Pay Range: ($40 to $48/hr.).

Contract position expected to last at least six (6) months (with potential extension based on project needs).

Work Requirements

This role is considered an on-site position located in Charlotte, NC

• You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
• Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
