Accountant

We are seeking a contract Accountant with strong NetSuite experience to assess and troubleshoot issues within our accounting system and workflows.

We are currently experiencing breakdowns in processes and/or system configuration that are impacting financial performance. This role will focus on auditing NetSuite, identifying root causes of discrepancies, and helping implement solutions.

This is a hands-on, investigative role requiring someone who can quickly step in, analyze how the system is being used, and connect accounting outputs to operational activity.

Contract Staff Accountant – NetSuite Audit & Process Improvement

Duration: 60–90 days, potential extension

Location: Onsite initially, with potential for Hybrid later in the assignment

Reports To: Controller / CFO

Key Responsibilities:

NetSuite Audit & Analysis

· Review and assess current NetSuite configuration, workflows, and data integrity

· Trace transactions across modules (GL, AP, AR, inventory, job costing)

· Identify errors, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies impacting financial results

Root Cause Identification

· Investigate discrepancies in financial reporting, margins, and cost tracking

· Analyze where processes are breaking down (system setup vs. actual workflows)

· Partner with Finance and Operations to validate findings

Process Improvement

· Recommend and support implementation of process and system improvements

· Standardize workflows where possible across entities

· Document current state and proposed future state processes

Accounting Support

· Assist with month-end close activities as needed (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)

· Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data during the engagement

Other Duties

· Assist with special projects, reorganizations, and integration work across entities.

· Provide support for other Shared Services Accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· 4–7 years of accounting experience

· Hands-on NetSuite experience required (audit, cleanup, or implementation strongly preferred)

· Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar operational environments preferred

· Strong understanding of:

o General Ledger and financial reporting

o Inventory and/or job costing (preferred)

o End-to-end accounting process flows
