Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY:
• Assists the pharmacist in the processing and filling of prescriptions and medication/medical supply orders.
• Reviews and enters orders & patient information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Processes and assists in the maintenance of pharmacy inventory.
• Performs sales transactions and provides customers/patients with information about medications, health insurance, and other health care related services.
• Files third-party insurance claims on paper and electronically.

• Completion of pharmacy technical program or on-the-job education/pharmacy work experience preferred.

• Current Hawaii State certificate of registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

• One (1) year of work experience, preferably as pharmacy technician/clerk.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to handle cash transactions.
o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
o Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail.
o Ability to work in a high-volume, sometimes stressful environment.
o Ability to operate different machines such as computer, calculator, cash register.
