Job Description
Queen of Apostles Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Instructional Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and socially. The Instructional Assistant plays a vital role in helping students achieve success while contributing to the mission and culture of our Catholic school community.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support

Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and instructional activities.

Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce concepts and support academic growth.

Help prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.

Support differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Student Supervision

Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment.

Monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.

Encourage positive behavior and model respect, responsibility, and Christian values.
Faith Formation
-
Support the integration of Catholic teachings and values throughout the school day.

Participate in prayer, Mass, liturgical celebrations, and other faith-based activities.

Serve as a positive Christian role model for students.
Collaboration

Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.

Communicate effectively regarding student progress, classroom needs, and school initiatives.

Assist with school events, programs, and activities as needed.
Administrative and Organizational Support

Assist with classroom organization, record keeping, copying, and preparation of materials.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.

Support teachers with technology and classroom management tasks as appropriate.
Professional Growth

Participate in professional development opportunities and faculty meetings as required.

Demonstrate a willingness to learn new instructional strategies and best practices in education.
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or higher preferred; high school diploma required.

Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth-serving setting preferred.
