Job Description

Queen of Apostles Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Instructional Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and socially. The Instructional Assistant plays a vital role in helping students achieve success while contributing to the mission and culture of our Catholic school community.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons and instructional activities.

• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce concepts and support academic growth.

• Help prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.

• Support differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

Student Supervision

• Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment.

• Monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.

• Encourage positive behavior and model respect, responsibility, and Christian values.

Faith Formation

• Support the integration of Catholic teachings and values throughout the school day.

• Participate in prayer, Mass, liturgical celebrations, and other faith-based activities.

• Serve as a positive Christian role model for students.

Collaboration

• Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.

• Communicate effectively regarding student progress, classroom needs, and school initiatives.

• Assist with school events, programs, and activities as needed.

Administrative and Organizational Support

• Assist with classroom organization, record keeping, copying, and preparation of materials.

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.

• Support teachers with technology and classroom management tasks as appropriate.

Professional Growth

• Participate in professional development opportunities and faculty meetings as required.

• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new instructional strategies and best practices in education.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher preferred; high school diploma required.

• Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth-serving setting preferred.

• Strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Queen of Apostles Catholic School.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
