Job Description
Queen of Apostles Catholic School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable K–8 Spanish Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong subject matter expertise in Spanish language instruction and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, engaging students across elementary and middle school grade levels.
This teacher will cultivate language proficiency, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication while fostering a classroom environment where students are challenged academically, supported socially, and formed spiritually.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Language Development

Teach Spanish to students in grades K–8, delivering engaging, standards-based instruction appropriate for a range of developmental levels.

Build foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with increasing rigor through the middle school grades.

Incorporate cultural elements from Spanish-speaking countries to deepen students’ global awareness and appreciation.

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and language abilities.
Faith Integration

Integrate Catholic values and traditions into language instruction where appropriate.

Expose students to prayers, songs, and cultural expressions of the Catholic faith in Spanish-speaking communities.
Classroom Environment

Create a welcoming, structured, and interactive classroom that encourages risk-taking and active participation in language learning.

Foster respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.
Collaboration

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support cross-curricular connections and school-wide initiatives.

Partner with classroom teachers to reinforce language learning where appropriate.
Student Support & Communication

Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful, constructive feedback.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents regarding student growth and performance.
Professional Growth

Participate in ongoing professional development and remain current in best practices for world language instruction and Catholic education.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

Fluency in Spanish (native or near-native proficiency preferred)

Teaching certification (preferred) or willingness to pursue certification

Experience teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students

Strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Queen of Apostles

Ability to differentiate instruction across a wide range of grade levels

Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
