Job Description

Queen of Apostles Catholic School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable K–8 Spanish Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong subject matter expertise in Spanish language instruction and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity, engaging students across elementary and middle school grade levels.

This teacher will cultivate language proficiency, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication while fostering a classroom environment where students are challenged academically, supported socially, and formed spiritually.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Language Development

• Teach Spanish to students in grades K–8, delivering engaging, standards-based instruction appropriate for a range of developmental levels.

• Build foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with increasing rigor through the middle school grades.

• Incorporate cultural elements from Spanish-speaking countries to deepen students’ global awareness and appreciation.

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and language abilities.

Faith Integration

• Integrate Catholic values and traditions into language instruction where appropriate.

• Expose students to prayers, songs, and cultural expressions of the Catholic faith in Spanish-speaking communities.

Classroom Environment

• Create a welcoming, structured, and interactive classroom that encourages risk-taking and active participation in language learning.

• Foster respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.

Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support cross-curricular connections and school-wide initiatives.

• Partner with classroom teachers to reinforce language learning where appropriate.

Student Support & Communication

• Assess student progress regularly and provide meaningful, constructive feedback.

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents regarding student growth and performance.

Professional Growth

• Participate in ongoing professional development and remain current in best practices for world language instruction and Catholic education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

• Fluency in Spanish (native or near-native proficiency preferred)

• Teaching certification (preferred) or willingness to pursue certification

• Experience teaching Spanish to elementary and/or middle school students

• Strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Queen of Apostles

• Ability to differentiate instruction across a wide range of grade levels

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
