We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing enriching experiences for our residents. The Activity Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in a long-term care setting, including those with memory care needs. Duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Facilitate group and individual activities, ensuring participation from all residents, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and social workers to create personalized activity plans that align with each resident’s care plan.
- Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback on activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote engagement and address any concerns related to activity participation.
- Assist with transportation of residents to activity locations within the facility.
Experience
- Previous experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes or memory care facilities is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with residents and their families.
