We design, develop, manufacture and deliver eVTOL Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and an ecosystem of related products and services. Our business directly addresses the Defense and Security markets in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. We currently have an opening for a well-qualified Software Engineering Intern. This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager.
As a Software Engineering Intern at Quantum-Systems, you will play a critical role in solving challenges within the dynamic and competitive government UAS industry. In this role, you will be a creative problem solver, tackling the multi-faceted problems facing our various platforms. Candidates will exemplify their technical acumen to identify, create and advance new technologies aligned to our company's vision for UAS and Airborne Artificial Intelligence. From envisioning future warfighter needs to executing advanced platform technologies, you will be at the forefront of Aerial Intelligence.
During Your Internship Experience:
The Software Engineering Intern can expect the following:
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Gain real-world experience working on customer-facing products
- Receive mentorship and feedback from peers
- Develop unmanned system technologies such as edge computed data fusion, vision, AI, and swarming
Basic Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate (BS) or graduate (MS) program in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- Available to work full-time in office in Moorpark, CA for a minimum of 10 weeks
- Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with version control and maintaining good coding standards in a shared codebase
- Familiarity with any of the following: C , C#, Rust, or TypeScript
- Background Check/U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in networking, video, or data communications over ethernet
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts
- Knowledge of common design patterns/models (MVC, Factory, Actor)
- Ability to design, develop, test, and deploy software for robotics, vehicles, and imaging systems
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop development and debugging
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Passion for unmanned and remotely controlled vehicles, robotics, and the Quantum Systems mission!
