The Virtual Mental Health Consultant is responsible for delivering comprehensive clinical services to clients via telehealth. This role involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention for individuals experiencing a range of mental health conditions. Mental health professionals are expected to provide therapy, guidance, and structured support to improve emotional and behavioral functioning.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy using modalities such as CBT and trauma-informed care
- Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention and safety planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries)
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed
- Coordinate care with external providers, case managers, and support systems
- Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage caseload and meet productivity expectations
This role requires demonstrated expertise in working with populations impacted by systemic inequities, including Black and Brown communities, LGBTQ individuals, veterans, and returning citizens. The consultant must apply culturally responsive, trauma-informed approaches that recognize the impact of racial trauma, incarceration, military service, and structural barriers on mental health. Treatment must be identity-affirming, contextually grounded, and focused on restoring agency, dignity, and long-term stability.
- Active, unrestricted license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) in Missouri
- Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience providing therapy services
- Strong competencies in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relational issues
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience providing telehealth services
- Training or experience substance misusing or sexual offending populations
- Experience working with veterans, returning citizens, or marginalized populations
- Multistate licensure
