ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN, EAST PROVIDENCE, RI

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technician will be responsible for supporting the engineering team in product development, process improvement, and equipment maintenance. This role involves executing product and process development tasks, performing R&D testing, maintaining production equipment, and supporting installation and repair activities.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Execute Product, Process Development, and R&D Testing Support engineering activities by setting up and running experiments, collecting data, and assisting with prototype builds and process trials.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance Perform regular maintenance on production and lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
• Repair and Install Equipment Assist with the installation, setup, relocation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and R&D equipment in collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

Conduct maintenance on HVAC, lighting, compressed air, and water filtration systems.

Follow safety protocols and help maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field (or equivalent technical training/experience).
• 1 years of experience in a technical role within manufacturing, engineering, or product development.
• Familiarity with basic mechanical and electrical systems, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and quotas.
• Possess a collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude.
• General knowledge of manufacturing preferred.
• Must be considered a U.S. Person eligible to work in the United States
• Ability and willingness to travel to support maintenance in Maine 3-5 days per month.
  
  

Work Environment And Physical Demands

• General office and manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.
• This position requires working near electrical and mechanical equipment that could potentially interfere with pacemaker function.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects.
• Repetitive hand movements for tasks like assembly or packaging.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Capability to use a hand truck and other assistive devices for items over 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing on hard surfaces during shift
• Walking to various stations or areas of the production floor.
• Sitting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling motions
• Ability to handle small tools, parts, and machinery with precision.
• Visual acuity for reading measurements, assembly instructions, and monitoring equipment.
• Hearing ability to detect alarms, machinery sounds, or verbal instructions in a noisy environment
• Will be required to wear appropriate PPE as outlined by company safety protocols.
