Our client is a leading international financial services organization seeking a Cyber Network Security Engineer to join its infrastructure and cybersecurity team in the Americas.
This role sits at the intersection of network engineering and cybersecurity, with a strong focus on securing critical infrastructure, improving network performance, and supporting strategic security initiatives across a complex enterprise environment.
You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, interacting with global teams and contributing to the security and resilience of mission-critical systems.
This position follows a hybrid work model (on-site presence required several days per week).
Your Role:
As a Cyber Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and securing the organization’s network infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design, implementation, and administration of network security infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPNs, proxies, remote access, and DMZ environments)
- Driving cybersecurity and network performance improvement initiatives aligned with business and IT strategy
- Monitoring network performance and security through dashboards and tools, and responding to incidents proactively
- Managing and maintaining accurate documentation (network diagrams, procedures, inventories, etc.)
- Collaborating with infrastructure, security, and audit teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance
- Supporting audits by providing documentation and implementing remediation plans
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and overseeing patch management processes
- Producing regular security and performance reports for leadership
- Managing Level 1 security controls in coordination with IT risk teams
- Aligning with global security teams to ensure consistency of policies and standards
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team knowledge development
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong expertise in network technologies (L2/L3, VXLAN, BGP, LAN/WAN, VPN)
- 5 years of experience in the Financial domain (Investment Bank)
- Deep knowledge of security technologies (firewalls, load balancing, proxies, authentication methods)
- Solid experience with DNS, DHCP, web security gateways, and proxy configurations
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across network and security systems
- Experience with Layer 4 and Layer 7 protocol analysis
- Familiarity with security and monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, Splunk, Centreon, vulnerability management tools)
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture and Network Access Control design
- Experience with major network vendors (e.g., Cisco, Arista) is a plus
- Scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Ansible) are a strong advantage
- Knowledge of micro-segmentation solutions (e.g., Illumio, VMware NSX) is a plus
