We are currently seeking an IT Technical Trainer. Candidates will interview via Microsoft Teams video. Candidates must be able to work a hybrid work schedule in Frankfort, KY. The number of onsite and remote workdays are at the discretion of the hiring manager. A fully remote work schedule is not an option. The selected candidate will be part of our client's oversight group, who will work with other branches and divisions. Candidates with an educational and/or government background are preferred.
Job Description:
Our client procures and provides oversight for the procurement of goods and services for our client’s programs, services, and support that protect and promote the health and well-being of all Kentuckians and their communities. Our client handles: Contracts, Purchasing Requests (PPATS) Cabinet ProCard, IT hardware, software, infrastructure requests, Furniture, Printing, Advertising, Membership dues, Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) Cabinet Wireless Devices, Copiers, Pest Control Services, Security Guard Services, Janitorial Services, Postage and Meters, Temp Contract Workers, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing training needs and employee/stakeholder skillsets.
- Utilizing the need assessment to set training priorities.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive training programs complete with lesson plans, course outlines, schedules, and assignments for internal and external stakeholders, such as vendors.
- Utilizing training development software such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate to develop comprehensive procurement and grant training programs to be posted and maintained in the MyPurpose Learning Management System (LMS) for internal staff.
- Identifying, assisting in the sourcing of, and maintaining access to a LMS system that allows external user access.
- Utilizing various information sources and working with subject matter experts to develop course content, presentations, worksheets, how-to documents, and other training materials.
- Conducting in-person, virtual, and on-demand training sessions, webinars, or workshops for groups or individuals.
- Monitoring and analyzing training results, evaluating effectiveness, and making continual improvements.
- Reporting/presenting results to management.
- Online help and troubleshooting.
- Maintaining certification documentation for internal and external business partners.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel, and Visio).
- Prior experience in a training role for an IT Application.
- Two years of professional experience in planning, coordinating, or conducting staff development and training courses, personnel administration or teaching, or professional experience in providing or administering human services or governmental programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly experienced at dealing with clients/users at all levels, singly and in groups.
- Ability to see the bigger picture , think granularly and create trainings from scratch.
- Ability to eventually conduct and lead training sessions for end users.
- Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Have a flexible mindset.
- The ability to pivot amongst tasks throughout the workday during slow and busy times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching/training experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrating a high level of working knowledge of Training Methodologies for Adult Learners.
- Ability to handle extreme workloads with general direction.
- Relationship management and facilitation skills.
- Proficient problem-solving skills.
- Technical writing skills.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and in conjunction with team members.
- Marketing or graphic design experience would be a plus to ensure training materials are visually appealing.
- Government or educational experience.
