What are the responsibilities and job description for the C++ Junior Developer – Trading Analytics position at Quanta Search?
Our client, a 100 person and growing global electronic market maker, trading over 10,000 instruments globally and executing millions of trades per day, is looking for a C developer with a passion for solving complex problems to join our Trading Analytics team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a very high-volume data-processing solution, which performs daily analysis of the firm’s trading activities across all asset classes. You will work alongside a very experienced team to develop and own our data-processing systems crunching billions of records per-day to analyze the firm-wide trading activity. In this role you will be exposed to all aspects of the firm, including the different business units, traders, finance, and senior management.
They invest heavily in our technology and infrastructure, and our flat collaborative and collegiate structure encourages an environment where our developers can bring their ideas / recommendations straight to senior level partners and firm founders. This role is ideal for a well-rounded, hands-on developer who is passionate about technology and will be able to make visible contributions to the team, platform and company.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related.
- 0-2 years of full-time work experience; financial industry experience is not a prerequisite, internship experience is a plus
- Strong C programming skills are required
- Any of the following skills are considered a plus: Linux knowledge, scripting skills, database and large data-sets experience, experience working with a large code base
- Ability to work autonomously, and be a self-starter with ownership mentality
- A flexible approach, willing to take on a wide variety of responsibilities, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Problem-solving, tinkering personality, with a meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
