Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and tech-savvy Information Technology Intern to support our IT team in maintaining and enhancing technology systems that power critical energy operations. This internship offers hands-on experience across infrastructure, cybersecurity, help desk support, and enterprise systems within a highly regulated industry.
This role is ideal for students interested in applying their technical knowledge in a real-world, mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues (help desk tickets)
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Support user account management (Active Directory, password resets, access provisioning)
- Help monitor system performance and troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives (phishing simulations, patching, endpoint protection)
- Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, or infrastructure improvements
- Document processes, procedures, and technical configurations
- Support IT asset inventory and lifecycle management
What You'll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
