Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing comprehensive test plans for electronic assemblies and systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
- Perform detailed testing on printed circuit boards (PCBs) using soldering techniques, surface mount technology (SMT), and hand tools to verify functionality.
- Conduct root cause analysis on test failures or anomalies, utilizing debugging skills and electrical troubleshooting methods.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks to interpret schematics, design modifications, or layout adjustments for testing fixtures.
- Support maintenance and calibration of testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other electrical testing tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test procedures by scripting automation using Python or other scripting languages to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in the assembly of prototypes or test units, ensuring proper electrical wiring and mechanical assembly according to schematics and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Document test results meticulously, prepare reports on equipment repair or maintenance needs, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Experience
- Proven experience working with electrical systems, schematics, and wiring in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with PCB design, assembly processes including surface mount technology (SMT), and electronic component soldering techniques.
- Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting methods such as debugging circuits with multimeters or oscilloscopes.
- Experience with CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks for interpreting schematics or designing fixtures.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues related to electrical failures or system malfunctions.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or scripting for automation tasks is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and the use of hand tools for assembly or troubleshooting.
