Position Summary
Responsible for both executing hands-on tasks and overseeing maintenance team efforts to ensure maximum equipment uptime, process optimization, and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Serves as a crucial link between engineering and maintenance teams, bridging the gap by applying advanced technical knowledge in automation and control systems, while leading and guiding maintenance technicians
Essential Functions
- Support the design, development, programming, and troubleshooting of control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs).
- Monitor and analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Assist in implementing and tuning control loops (PID, advanced algorithms) to enhance process stability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Controls Engineers to execute control strategies and support system upgrades or new installations.
- Maintain and update documentation, schematics, and software configurations related to automation systems.
- Maintenance Leadership and Technical Support
- Lead daily maintenance operations and direct maintenance technicians in prioritizing and executing work orders.
- Serve as a first responder to complex automation and electrical issues; escalate and collaborate as needed.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems, including motors, conveyors, sensors, and safety systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), audits, and equipment inspections to reduce downtime.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and retrofits.
- Team Collaboration and Safety
- Act as a technical liaison between engineering and maintenance teams to coordinate improvement projects and emergency repairs.
- Ensure technicians follow safety standards and report hazards or unsafe behaviors.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians on troubleshooting methods, equipment uses, and safety practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional meetings to drive reliability and operational excellence.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation or maintenance roles, including PLC/VFD troubleshooting.
- Strong hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), robotics, SCADA, and industrial networks.
- Leadership experience or proven ability to guide and coordinate team efforts effectively.
- This is a FULLY ONSITE position; must be able to report onsite daily.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with multiple languages spoken.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish/Mandarin preferred
- Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Effective communicator and problem solver under high-pressure or changing conditions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and data analysis tools.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in documentation and technical reporting.
- Ability to present technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Close vision required and ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to stoop, bend, twist, and perform repetitive tasks as part of repair work.
- Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floors and moving about production and warehouse areas.
- Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments occasionally.
- Ability to travel occasionally for tool deployment or cross-site support – Travel 10%
