Warehouse Operator 1

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 Performs receiving, shipping and warehousing functions.  Examines all incoming and outgoing materials to verify completeness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices or other documentation.  Maintains records of goods shipped and received.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Maintains cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, and the local community

·       Works as part of the team and collaborates with co-workers and colleagues.

·       Responsible for reading, understanding and following all work instructions (WI’s) for each function performed.

·       Responsible for working in compliance with safety and all other training.

·       Adheres to and supports QMN’s Corporate policies and procedures.

·       Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by identifying all safety hazards and recommending corrective actions when necessary.

·       Responsible for utilizing proper lifting and material movement techniques at all times.

·       Pulls orders according to established procedures.

·       Identifies problem orders and interfaces with Buyer/Planner for resolution.

·       Prepares and organizes orders for shipment according to vendor routing instructions.

·       Interfaces with Program Management regarding shipment quotation and analysis.

·       Unloads trucks while using lifting equipment and proper lifting techniques.

·       Inspects all received materials for damage, identification and quantity.

·       Performs transactions in ERP system.

·       Pulls production material according to pick list and enters information into computer system.

·       Participates in preparing warehouse for physical inventory.

·       Participates in physical count of inventory according to procedures.  Responsible for accuracy of counts.

·       Maintains organization and cleanliness of warehouse(s).  Processes and stocks all releases.

·       Performs all other related job duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

·       Actively works to improve processes in the company.

·       Performs all other related job duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

DIRECTION RECEIVED:

Works within established guidelines and with close direction from the Operations Manager.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not directly supervise other employees and therefore does not have authority or responsibility for performing the supervisory functions of hiring, evaluating, disciplining, terminating or approving employee transactions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

·       Prior warehousing experience.

·       Shipping and/or Receiving experience.

·       Forklift experience preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

·          High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

·     Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

JUDGEMENT/REASONING ABILITY:

·          Able to recognize and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment and diplomacy.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·       Computer literate in a Windows Environment; Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Internet.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·       Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.

·       Able to squat to lift boxes weighing up to 65 pounds.

·       Able to stand, stoop and bend.

·       Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods.

·       Able to work in warehouse environment with no central heat or air.

·       Able to operate pallet jack and/or forklift.

·       Hectic, fast paced.

·       Non-smoking.

·       Warehouse environment.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

·          Ability to work overtime as needed.
