PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the cycle count process and for the site-wide inventory accuracy. Performs daily variance reconciliation and root cause analysis. Participates in the physical count of inventory according to established processes. Oversees the site-wide preparation for annual physical inventory by monitoring progress toward defined benchmarks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review daily cycle count results, oversee recounts, and research discrepancies.
- Perform root-cause analysis on inventory variances and help drive improvements.
- Interface directly with Managers, Supervisors, and other Leads on issues impacting inventory control.
- Instruct and train warehouse operators in receiving, storage, picking, and shipping methods that enhance inventory control.
- Help enforce proper inventory control procedures site-wide.
- Run weekly cycle count results and send results to senior management.
- Conduct weekly cycle count meetings.
- Submit unresolved variances for SAP adjustment in a timely manner.
- Conduct formal count training prior to physical inventory.
- Help site prepare for physical inventory using benchmark tools that measure progress toward defined goals.
- Other duties as directed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a minimum 2 years experience in a warehouse setting and a minimum of 1-2 years of shipping, receiving or inventory control experience.
- Must be proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity with SAP, QWMS, and QMS systems.
- High school diploma required.
- AS degree a plus
