QMN currently occupies nine (9) facilities in the Antioch/LaVergne area with over 3000 employees...and GROWING!
We are currently seeking candidates for the following position!
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment within a warehouse/production facility. This includes conducting regular inspections, identifying hazards, implementing safety protocols, providing training to employees, assist with accident investigations, maintain safety records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Position requires person to spend 95% of day walking/standing the warehouse/production floor.
Essential Functions:
· Regularly inspect the warehouse/production areas for potential hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance with safety regulations.
· Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to management
· Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are followed by all employees.
· Assist EHS Specialists with accident investigations, report near misses, incidents, document findings and recommend preventive measures.
· Conduct stand-up safety training with existing employees on topics such as PPE usage, forklift safety, hazard communication, process changes, etc.
· Maintain knowledge of how to access safety data sheets (SDS), safety records, and other safety-related documentation so can access when needed: accidents, audits, employee requests, etc.
· Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA and RBA standards.
· Act as a liaison between management and employees regarding safety-related matter.
· Monitor safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and eyewash stations and report discrepancies to EHS Manager.
· Foster a culture of safety awareness and encourage safe work practices among all employees.
· Follow 5S and ensure all employees do the same.
· Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse/production environment.
· Previous experience in Safety related position preferred.
· Knowledge of OSHA regulations a plus.
Other Skills and Abilities:
· This is a FULLY ONSITE position; must be able to report onsite daily.
· Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with multiple languages spoken.
· Ability to guide and influence a group of people.
· Computer literate in a Windows environment with strong Excel skills.
· Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Detail oriented.
· Ability to operate independently.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to climb ladders.
· Ability to distinguish between colors.
· Ability to bend, stoop, stand/sit for prolonged periods, move about production and warehouse facilities.
· Ability to stand and/or walk on cement floors for extended periods.
· Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments.
