Quality Control Manager | Training, Standards & Development

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Control & Training Manager to lead employee training, strengthen individual performance, and ensure our teams consistently meet company standards.

This position is ideal for a leader who knows how to teach, coach, evaluate, and hold people accountable. You will work closely with employees and department leaders to identify performance gaps, provide practical training, reinforce expectations, and create measurable improvements across the organization.

Rather than simply checking whether standards are being met, you will help build the teams capable of meeting them. From onboarding new employees to coaching experienced team members, you will play a key role in developing talent, improving field performance, and maintaining a consistent level of service.

Responsibilities

• Lead employee onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing performance development
• Conduct field observations, quality inspections, and performance evaluations
• Identify skill gaps and develop targeted training to address them
• Coach employees on service quality, productivity, safety, professionalism, and company expectations
• Work with managers and supervisors to address performance concerns and implement improvement plans
• Reinforce company procedures, operational standards, safety requirements, and best practices
• Provide constructive feedback and hold employees accountable for performance
• Track training completion, inspection results, and employee performance trends
• Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve operational consistency
• Assist in developing training materials, SOPs, and employee development programs
• Maintain accurate training, inspection, and quality-control documentation
• Identify and develop high-performing employees for future leadership opportunities
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, continuous improvement, and service excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in training, quality control, operations, leadership, or performance management
• Background in moving and storage, logistics, transportation, warehousing, or another service-based industry
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills
• Ability to identify performance issues and develop practical solutions
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to balance accountability with positive employee development
• Comfort working in both office and field environments
• Knowledge of safety programs, operational compliance, and DOT regulations (a plus)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between work sites as needed
