SUMMARY
The Purchasing/Inventory Specialist is responsible for the receiving, storing, and issuing of paint, tools, sundries (i.e. sandpaper, gloves, paint suits, masks), and other equipment used in our operations at Quality Paint and Coatings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for unpacking, verifying, receiving, and storing as appropriate all incoming shipments to assure we receive what was ordered from our suppliers and that it is stored in a secure and safe location.
- Maintains inventory of paint, tools, sundries, and other equipment preparing purchase requisitions as needed for replenishment.
- Responsible for stocking satellite stocking locations with commonly used sundries.
- Cycle counting of inventoried items.
- Issue tools and equipment to shop employees
- Maintain records of tools and equipment issued, manually or using computer.
- Locate lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
- Prepares purchase requisitions for new equipment as needed.
- May be required to fill in for other areas of manufacturing as required to meet customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer knowledge
- At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to endure extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in working with military parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working with ERP system (EPICOR)
