What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control/WHS Specialist position at Quality Packaging?
Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels. Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures. Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages. The ideal candidate should be able to work with little to no supervision and intermediate experience with computers. There are no direct reports to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has good math skills
- Ability to make decisions on inventory related issues
- Lift up to 40 pounds
- Lift above shoulder level
- Has the ability to work a flexible schedule and Multi-Task with adequate breaks.
- Bending and stooping, with some twisting
- Repetitive hand / arm motions
- Must be able to tolerate fluctuating seasonal temperature conditions.
- Knowledge of the Quality requirements for receiving and management of raw materials
- Forklift certified or the ability to become forklift certified
This position will also be responsible for enforcing organizational safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties as implemented/mandated by the Company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Enforces safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations employed by the Company.
· Assist in implementation of programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
· Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, assists in determining corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
· Conducts safety audits.
· Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
· Assist in the investigation of accidents and injuries and prepares material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
· Assist in compiling accident investigations and follow-ups ensuring any applicable correction action is taken.
· Assist in safety training and orientation required for continued compliance with all regulations.
· Represents the Company to onsite customer not only as incidents occur but also as other communications necessary by site.
· Assists in maintaining safety files and records, not limited to inspections, checklists, and training.
· Assist in tracking and analysis of employee safety.
· Maintain/report stock levels of PPE and other safety supplies
