Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support our packaging manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance on packaging machinery, production equipment, conveyors, compressors, and facility systems.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, sensors, motors, and drives.
Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades.
Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns during production.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS or maintenance logs.
Follow and enforce safety policies and procedures; participate in safety audits and corrective actions.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime and optimize machine performance.
Order and maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Preferred:
Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems.
Experience with automated packaging equipment (e.g., case erectors, fillers, labelers, shrink wrappers).
Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
Certification in industrial maintenance or related field (e.g., OSHA, NCCER, or equivalent).
Work Conditions:
Manufacturing plant environment: exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights or in confined spaces.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or on-call as needed.
