We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood collection from patients.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and specimens to maintain accuracy in testing.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records and laboratory systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing reassurance and information about the procedure.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and laboratory efficiency.
- Stay updated on laboratory procedures, techniques, and regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or in a similar role within a hospital or laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures.
- Proficiency in specimen collection processing techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in phlebotomy is preferred but not mandatory.
