Position Overview
The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the receiving team, drivers, and material handlers while managing all materials movement across production, engineering, and other departments. This role ensures all materials are handled accurately, efficiently, and safely, maintaining smooth operations and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the materials team, including receiving, inventory movement, and distribution to production and engineering.
- Ensure all materials personnel are properly trained, certified, and following documented procedures.
- Oversee and audit all inventory transactions for accuracy; identify and correct discrepancies through retraining as needed.
- Conduct and review 5S audits to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain forklift certification and provide inhouse training and certification for team members.
- Oversee labeling, storage, and bin location accuracy for all incoming materials.
- Ensure material dispatch and return requests are completed timely and according to company standards.
- Manage inbound and outbound lanes to support accurate, efficient material flow.
- Conduct quarterly employee reviews and manage timecard approvals.
- Create and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate materials team performance.
- Promote and enforce a safe work environment, reporting any safety or OSHA concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with other management team members to analyze and improve daily operations.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, bending, and walking in warehouse and production environments.
- Exposure to noise and chemical vapors.
- Visual acuity and color perception required for accurate label identification.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience in materials handling, warehouse, or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of materials management, including procurement, inventory control, and distribution.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and inventory software systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of 5S and lean principles.
- Experience developing and monitoring team performance metrics (KPIs).
