Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of garage doors and related hardware. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to work effectively in a variety of environments, including residential and commercial sites. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in using power tools and have a keen eye for detail when reading blueprints and schematics.
Qualifications to be learned
- Understanding of Garage Door Systems: In-depth knowledge of how various garage door types (sectional, rolling steel, etc.), their components (springs, cables, rollers, tracks, panels), and openers (both mechanical and electrical) function.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to accurately diagnose issues, from simple electrical shorts to complex structural problems, and identify effective solutions.
- Tool Proficiency: Skillful operation of both hand and power tools.
- Electrical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical systems, especially as it pertains to garage door openers and related components. This includes wiring and programming automated systems, remote controls, and keypads.
- Installation Expertise: Proficient in assembling door components, ensuring proper alignment, tensioning springs, and calibrating openers for smooth and safe operation.
- Repair and Maintenance: Competence in repairing broken parts, replacing damaged components, and performing routine maintenance.
- Customer Service and Communication: Strong communication skills, attention to detail
- Valid Driver's License: Essential for traveling to job sites
